The Marriage Project
STATUS: NONFICTION BOOK IN PROGRESS
The Marriage Project seeks to reveal truths about marriage, a topic most don’t speak bluntly about and seem to fear expressing. I don’t believe many of us are properly prepared for marriage, and navigating it can often feel daunting and make us question our selves and partners. If more people opened up about their experiences, we might not be so quick to grapple with what we deem good, bad or normal, acceptable or unacceptable, and the big question: should I stay or should I go?
My project gives folks a secure avenue to express themselves, especially as contributors will remain anonymous, which encourages participation from a wider audience. Your experiences, should you choose to share them, are safe with me.
Once I receive enough submissions, I will select portions to include in a book (or books, as this may result in more than one volume). My sincerest hope is the resulting book will enlighten readers about the reality of marriage and provide peace of mind, food for thought, relatability, validation, comfort, insight, empathy or knowledge.
My research is conducted one-on-one via e-mail. Your email will be kept private and used for communication purposes only. By participating, you give me permission to use your story for publication, whether in book form or electronic. I will read and review all submissions, as well as respond to the contributor. Not a writer? Not a problem. I’m only looking for honesty and willingness to tell your story. I also edit every submission for clarity and accuracy, but not voice. I want your essence to shine through. Your submission can be as short or long as it needs; there are no requirements aside from honesty.
